Improving your Life with your Partner

With healthy relationships, there are always expectations that your partner should improve your life for the better. Venus covers relationships, and finding which houses Venus is the lord for can show which areas of life you seek for improvement most with your partner. Pluto in the 1st House

The 1st House is often the house that collectively represents how we view the world. The house represents the first breath we take, and our impressions of the world. The 1st House can usually rule over what we are consciously aware of. The 1st House is arguably one of the most important houses, for it is a template for the natal chart, setting the chart for which signs rule which houses.

Those with Pluto in the 1st House often approach the world knowing very well how dark the world can be. Pluto in the 1st natives are not naive, and since they are aware of the darkness of the world, they often keep to themselves. Pluto in the 1st individuals are skilled at filtering what information is disclosed. Often, people may feel like they know the native well when they really don’t at all. Those with Pluto in the 1st know how to perfectly give just enough information to keep curious people satisfied, but hide just enough information to where nothing worth knowing is known.

However, the Pluto in the 1st native may always feel like they’re constantly filtering out the information they’re giving. With these natives, there is a strong investigative vibe that’s naturally provoking. Those who feel exposed and violated will often dislike the native, while those who feel transformed and understood will love the native. With Pluto in the 1st, first impressions are often extreme. You either hate or love a Pluto in the 1st native, and with many strong reactions, it can be hard for the native to understand what image they’re truly putting out.

The reason why these natives can have such strong powerful reactions is because their presence is provoking, whether it is intentional or not. There is often an either uncomfortable or overly embracing feeling when a person meets a person with Pluto in the 1st. Those with Pluto in the 1st are usually intuitive about individuals and can quite easily correctly assess a person without knowing too much information about them. This ability is the reason why a Pluto in the 1st native can be provoking. The amount of information the native can have on others can either be seen as an insightful, understanding acceptance or a violating intrusion into the soul.

This is however not the only reason why Pluto in the 1st natives drive strong reactions from others. Pluto in the 1st natives themselves tend to have strong reactions to other people. These natives can often be very intense, for their self-expression is often extreme. There often isn’t a moderate, balanced way for these natives to express themselves. These natives will either wholly express themselves to the fullest, or not express at all. With that in mind, when these natives do express themselves, there is a lot of passion. With passion and intensity being key factors for these natives, power is very important for these individuals. Since passion and intensity, parts of their self-expression, can be hard to control, these natives strive for that control, and often, this can cause power struggles with other people who may threaten that control. Due to these power struggles, strong reactions can occur.

One issue Pluto in the 1st natives can have is the feeling of paranoia in regards to others and the world surrounding them. Pluto in the 1st natives can even be paranoid with themselves. The reason why this paranoia can spring up can often be due to how the native is aware of the darkness of the world. Since these natives are very secretive, they often have a strong, defensive wall of protection. These natives can have the feeling that the world is out to get them, and due to this, their paranoia can limit them on many opportunities. In a sense, due to the fact that they’re aware of darkness, these natives are secretly scared of the world. The motive that drives their secretive nature is fear, and with that fear comes a sensitivity these natives want to hide.

The sense of self and view of the world can often not just be extreme, but also transformative. Those with Pluto in the 1st can often go through many physical transformations in their lives, whether that would be losing weight, getting a haircut, getting a tattoo, and so on. These natives can also go through emotional phases, often having a “happy” phase, an “emo” phase, and so on. With the Pluto in the 1st, the native is never quite consistent with themselves, and this is due to the fact that these natives face a lot of volatile situations in their lives that can threaten this consistency.

Pluto is the planet that shows where the native has power. With that in mind, Pluto also marks the area of life where the native can either be empowered or destroyed, depending on how that power is handled. For those with Pluto in the 1st, how they handle themselves will determine whether they are empowered or not. These natives can often feel like the most powerful individual, capable of anything for one instance, and then hate themselves to no end in another instance. With this in mind, it’s very possible for Pluto in the 1st natives to place themselves in very dangerous phases in their lives. These natives are able to weather through a lot of situations and come out changed either for the better or worse. However, deep down, these natives crave for a sense of stability in their sense of selves. Through every drastic change, there is a hope that the new change they’ve implemented on themselves will be their last.

Empty Houses in Astrology

WHAT IS AN EMPTY HOUSE?

An empty house is a house that doesn’t have any planets. If the house however has asteroids, but no planets, it is still considered an empty house.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF AN EMPTY HOUSE?

The answer to this question is a little tricky, because all empty houses differ in meaning depending on the natal chart you are looking. There isn’t a “general” meaning for an empty house due to the unique possibilities an empty house can actually offer. It can be argued that the word “empty” can be misleading. Empty houses does not mean a lack of meaning for manifestation in your natal chart. Energy manifests everywhere in your chart through the many connections you have through planets and aspects.

This means that empty houses are indeed very significant in your natal chart. Even though you don’t have planets, facets of self-expression in these houses, the self-expression you express in other houses will often energetically bleed onto these empty houses through aspects with lords of these empty houses. Often, interpreting the connections between an empty house and another house with a planet in it can explain certain elements of the natal chart.

IS IT NORMAL TO HAVE AN EMPTY HOUSE?

It’s completely “normal.” There are twelve houses but ten planets. You will at least have two empty houses in your chart.

HOW DO YOU INTERPRET AN EMPTY HOUSE?

Here is a possible way to interpret an empty house. There are various methods to do this and it will vary from astrologer to astrologer:

  1. Interpret the sign ruling the house cusp.

  2. Look at the lord of the empty house.

  3. Look at aspects to the lord of the empty house.

  4. Continue investigating until you’ve made a satisfactory amount of connections in your natal chart.

"You want an award for that?"

Where Leo falls in your houses can show where you want validation from yourself and others. This can manifest in expressing yourself in a certain way, and then expecting others to praise you in return. Where your Sun is on your natal chart will show why you want that validation. Of course, aspects to the Sun would diversify the expression.

There’s nothing wrong with being validated or getting validation. Just remember that validation is given from the heart (the body part that Leo rules ironically,) not from obligation!

Family Dynamics and Parenting

There are several ways to look at how you can parent your child in astrology. This post will mainly focus on influences in the Houses, rather than the planets, even though the rest of your chart is very important to look at.

You may have interceptions in your Houses, to where these descriptions will not apply. If that is the case, then the descriptions below will be altered in a sense that there is an imbalance in a certain sign, and with the imbalance, there can be trouble or talent. Asking an astrologer to analyze those Houses will give you a better idea.

If you look at the signs ruling over each house, you will find that the sign at the 4th House will be opposing the sign at the 10th House, and will also neighbor the sign at 5th House. The sign at the 5th House will be inconjunct to the sign at 10th House, which will combine common elements between the two signs either harmoniously or disharmoniously, depending how you choose to channel that energy. The conflicting energies from the 5th and 10th House can also show the choices and factors that can play whether you want to have children or not at all. It is however, entirely possible to work with both energies.

Aries in the 4th + Taurus in the 5th + Libra in the 10th: Raising children for charm and beauty from a childhood of volatile conflict - With Aries in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to be independent, assertive, and courageous so that you could willingly do things on your own. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family was volatile and overly aggressive due to numerous arguments, and maybe even violence. With that in mind, with Taurus in the 5th House, you ideally want to raise your children in a comfortable, safe environment with little to no conflict. However, a strong theme of stubbornness and persistence will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Libra in the 10th House, you may try to avoid arguments and instead, encourage diplomatic relations in the family, since you weren’t granted as much peace as you liked in your childhood. You ideally want a transition from the masculine, aggressive, Martian childhood you had, to a relaxing, beautiful Venusian upbringing for your children. While your ideal parenting is comfortable and perhaps visually appealing, there can be a lack of substance and growth due to the comfort provided. With Aries and Taurus ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your new family will be comfort, peace, and beauty, in both an internal and external sense. However, there can be a struggle combining such elements because there can be a problem of whether you would rather implement comfort and strong values within your family, or go out and communicate justice and compromise with others outside your family, since you may not have been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Taurus in the 4th + Gemini in the 5th + Scorpio in the 10th: Raising children for knowledge and power from a childhood of beauteous shallowness - With Taurus in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to make yourself comfortable, have strong values, and look presentable to others. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked communication, fun, and mental stimulation. With that in mind, with Gemini in the 5th House, you ideally want to raise your children in a dynamic, talkative environment. However, a strong theme of being skilled in manipulating your physical and abstract surroundings with talent will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Scorpio in the 10th House, you may try to dig and stimulate needed arguments and strengthen your relationships through intimacy, since you felt that your relationships in your childhood were shallow. You ideally want a transition from the calm, but somewhat meaningless childhood you had to an intimate, important, and deeply mental stimulating upbringing for your children. While your ideal parenting is fun and dynamic, there can be a lack of stability due to the strong focus on abstract (thoughts and emotions) rather than physical concepts. With Gemini and Scorpio ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your new family will to consistent have mentally stimulating and intimate interactions in both an internal and external sense. However, there can be a struggle combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you would rather implement intimacy and secrets within your family, or go out and communicate and disclose your thoughts to others outside your family, since you may not have been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Gemini in the 4th + Cancer in the 5th + Sagittarius in the 10th: Raising children for roots and beliefs from a childhood of logical skepticism  - With Gemini in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to be intelligent, smart, and to communicate with others in the family. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked a focus on emotions and taking those emotions into account in logical discussions. With that in mind, with Cancer in the 5th House, you ideally want to raise your children to be emotionally in tune with themselves, and to prioritize their emotions and comfort. However, a strong theme of maintaining intelligence in abstract concepts will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Sagittarius in the 10th House, you may try to implement a view of the world that’s not logically sound, but is built from belief, since you felt that your family heavily emphasized on logic and knowledge rather than illogical belief. You ideally want a transition from the busy, logically based childhood you had to an emotionally emphasized and belief-based upbringing where you don’t always have to tie everything you know and believe in with logic and rationality. While your ideal parenting is soft, there can be numerous errors due to a too heavy reliance on emotions and belief to validate things you may feel, not find, to be facts. With Cancer and Sagittarius ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of of your new family will be to explore and to emotionally resonate and believe in values that aren’t always logical. However, there can be a struggle combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you would rather stick to your emotional roots and comfort within your family, or go out and tell others about your beliefs (that can be considered irrational) outside your family, since you may have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Cancer in the 4th + Leo in the 5th + Capricorn in the 10th: Raising children with talent and ambition from a childhood of comfort - With Cancer in the 4th House, you were to where you were strongly encouraged to stick to your family’s roots, stay comfortable emotionally, and to stick to the past. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked a focus on fun, creativity, and romance. With that in mind, with Leo in the 5th House, you ideally want to raise your children to be creative, spontaneous, and unique from others. However, a strong theme of maintaining a strong presence will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Capricorn in the 10th House, you will try to stray away from your family roots and to create your own values and ambitions. You ideally want a transition from an established, comfortable foundation from your childhood to an upbringing where you drive your own children to create their own ambitions and responsibilities. While your ideal parenting is good for surviving for the world, you may struggle to take an account to your children’s emotions, failing to realize that you don’t always have to be the best in everything to validate yourself. With Leo and Capricorn ruling the 5th and 10th House the focus of your new family will be to practically yet creatively establish your presence into the world with your talents and and ambition. However, there can be a struggle combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you want to establish practical ambitions within your family, or go out and shine and showcase your talents creatively outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Leo in the 4th + Virgo in the 5th + Aquarius in the 10th: Raising children with a rational heart for society from a childhood of selfishness - With Leo in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to stand out, be creative, have fun, and to have a charismatic image. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked a focus on work and consideration for others, since there was a strong focus on self-expression. With that in mind, with Virgo in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be selfless, hardworking, and serving to other people. However, a strong theme of maintaining a strong role will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Aquarius in the 10th House, you will not focus on helping yourself, but help the community around you and strive for progress in society rather than yourself. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that emphasized art and the self to a upbringing that will encourage the other and technology. While your ideal parenting is good for helping the world, you may struggle to realize or utilize your children’s talents and artistic abilities. With Virgo and Aquarius ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to effectively use technology and logic to help others in the world. However, there can be a struggle combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you want to establish a constant, efficient routine within your family, or go out and try to bring progress and help others outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Virgo in the 4th + Libra in the 5th + Pisces in the 10th: Raising children with love and imagination from a childhood of dullness - With Virgo in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to work, fulfill your duties, and to help others around you. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked a focus on enjoying the sweeter side of life, relaxation, and indulgence. With that in mind, with Libra in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be artistic, charming, and socially graceful to others. However, a strong theme of being considerate to others will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Pisces in the 10th House, you will focus on the deeper, more imaginative and artistic side to life with the need to enjoy what life has to offer. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that emphasized the details of reality to an upbringing that will encourage the grandness of imagination. While your ideal parenting is good for love, you may struggle to help your children become practical and solid with their daily routines and to pay special attention to glaring everyday life issues. With Libra and Pisces ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to promote peace and to envision a better world through a loving imagination. However, there can be a struggle of combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you want to feel intimate, compassionate love within your family, or go out and bring that love through diplomatic social interactions outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Libra in the 4th + Scorpio in the 5th + Aries in the 10th: Raising children with independence and power from a childhood of conformation - With Libra in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to be peaceful, socially graceful, and fair to others. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked a focus on intimacy, the darker, uglier side to life, and needed conflict for stronger relationships. With that in mind, with Scorpio in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be powerful, intense, and be in touch with what the world really is. However, a strong theme of maintaining power will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Aries in the 10th House, you will want to focus on being independent, assertive, and courageous enough to get what you want from the world. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that was peaceful but shallow to an upbringing that will encourage your children to fight for what they want, and see the world for what it really is. While your ideal parenting is good for establishing a sense of identity, you may struggle to help your children deal with others gently and peacefully - resulting in unproductive conflict. With Aries and Scorpio ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to become fighters for themselves and to establish an identity that will penetrate the world. However, there can be a struggle of combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you want to provide secretive, intimate strength within your family, or go out and inspire others through your own strength and identity outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Scorpio in the 4th + Sagittarius in the 5th + Taurus in the 10th: Raising children with a wonder for the world from a childhood of darkness - With Scorpio in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to be secretive, powerful, and influential to others. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family lacked optimism, for you felt that the atmosphere of your family was very heavy, and even uncomfortable. With that in mind, with Sagittarius in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be intelligent, adventurous, and appreciate the wonders of the world around them. However, a strong theme of deep, critical thinking will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Taurus in the 10th House, you will want to focus on appreciating the physical luxuries of life and indulge in comfortable wealth. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that was extreme and volatile to an upbringing that will encourage your children to appreciate and love the things offered by life. While your ideal upbringing is good for promoting hope, you may struggle to help your children realize the darkness the world also offers - resulting in a harmful surprise. With Sagittarius and Taurus ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to explore the world and enjoy the luxuries gained from adventures and wealth. However, there can be a struggle of combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you want to provide a comfortable luxury within your family, or go out and teach and show others the beauty of life outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Sagittarius in the 4th + Capricorn in the 5th + Gemini in the 10th: Raising children with a strong mind and success from a childhood of jokes - With Sagittarius in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to be intelligent, optimistic, and to not take life too seriously. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family didn’t realize the practicalities of the world that goes against optimism and how to create a strong, serious presence in the world. With that in mind, with Capricorn in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be successful, practical, and important in society. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that didn’t do society justice in its image to an upbringing that will show the world for what it is and how to succeed in it. However, a strong theme of mastering the world will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Gemini in the 10th House, you will want to focus on solid, tangible knowledge rather than subjective belief. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that was impractical and not solid to an upbringing that will encourage your children to be logically smart and constructively ambitious and successful. While your upbringing is good for leading a society, you may struggle to help your children see the fun in life, often resulting in a lack of substance. With Capricorn and Gemini ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to efficiently use logical knowledge to achieve pragmatic ambitions. However, there can be a struggle of combining such elements because there is a problem of whether you want to provide structure and practicality within your family or go out and teach the rational reality to others outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Capricorn in the 4th + Aquarius in the 5th + Cancer in the 10th: Raising children with innovative compassion from a childhood of boredom - With Capricorn in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to be serious, ambitious, and mature to others around you. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family didn’t give you the opportunity to break the rules and to be free. With that in mind, with Aquarius in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be unique, popular, and rebellious. However, there is a strong theme of maintaining intelligence and power from your childhood to raising your children. With Cancer in the 10th House, you want to focus on keeping others comfortable rather than uncomfortably pursuing responsibility. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that was too restricting and cold to an upbringing that will encourage your children to be free and comfortable to be young instead of being mature at an early age. While your upbringing is good for implementing compassion and help into society, you can struggle to help your children be practical, serious, and realistic, often resulting in failure due to impracticality. With Aquarius and Cancer ruling the 10th House, the focus of your family will be to emotionally nurture others and challenge the norms of society. However, there can be a problem of combining such elements because there is a struggle of whether you want to provide emotional comfort and focus on the fixing the past within your family or go out and break the norms of society and focus on fixing the future outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Aquarius in the 4th + Pisces in the 5th + Leo in the 10th: Raising children with imaginative self-expression from a childhood of society - With Aquarius in the 4th House, you were raised to where you were encouraged to focus on your community, and to be helpful to humanity by being rationally intelligent. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family didn’t teach you to develop your imagination due to overly focusing on your community realistically. With that in mind, with Pisces in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to focus on their own individual imaginations so that they can develop their own kind of compassion for others, even though it may be impractical. However, there is a strong theme of idealism and breaking standards that will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Leo in the 10th House, you want to focus on your own charismatic identity and artistic talents rather than wasting them for the sake of others. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that was too unpredictable and community-based to an upbringing that will encourage your children to stand out and to not be bound by their community. While your upbringing is good for developing one’s unique talents, you can struggle to help your children focus on the state of the community around them and drive progress for others rather than themselves. With Pisces and Leo ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to be imaginative and to develop unique, charismatic talents for the self that will not be overpowered by others. However, there can be a problem of combining such elements because there is a struggle of whether you want to keep your imagination and talents within your family, or go out and expose those talents and promote self-expression outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

Pisces in the 4th + Aries in the 5th + Virgo in the 10th: Raising children with a strong identity and mind from a childhood of confusion - With Pisces in the 4th House, you were raised in a childhood where you were encouraged to be spiritual, imaginative, and sacrificial to others. However, in your childhood, you may feel that your family didn’t help you develop a sense of assertiveness and identity within yourself to where you couldn’t effectively serve others. With that in mind, with Aries in the 5th House, you ideally want your children to be courageous, strong, and true to themselves. However, there is a strong theme of innocence and optimism that will remain from your childhood to raising your children. With Virgo in the 10th House, you want to focus on the essential details of reality and use those details to help others rather than sit and unproductively imagine. You ideally want a transition from a childhood that was unproductive and confusing to an upbringing that will encourage your children to be energetic and productive in the world. While your upbringing is good for developing a good work ethic, you may struggle to help your kids become compassionate, gentle, and open to the slower-paced side to life. With Aries and Virgo ruling the 5th and 10th House, the focus of your family will be to productively and effectively work due to knowing one’s strength through a strong sense of identity. However, there can be a problem of combining such elements because there is a struggle of whether you want to encourage serving and practicality within your family or go out and knowingly pursue what you individually want outside your family, since you have not been granted both things in your childhood. This struggle can determine whether you would want to have a family or to go into the world to pursue what you’ve lacked.

The 12th House

Out of all the twelve houses, the 12th house is definitely a house that many people can misunderstand. It’s easy to see why - the house on the outside seems gloomy and negative, and like the 7th house, can be seen as a shadow. Due to this, a lot of people believe that having any planets or being dominant in the 12th house means they’re doomed for life. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! Although having any planets or having a strong influence in the 12th house brings many challenges, so does having planets in any other house. Every placement has their ups and downs, and it’s ultimately up to you whether you want things to go well or not.

The 12th house is commonly seen as the house of “self-undoing” and unconscious, ruled by the dreamy, yet confusing sign of Pisces. Any planets you would find in the 12th house is suppressed and concealed, only seen by others when you are most vulnerable. However, this doesn’t mean any planets in the 12th house are weaker in influence. In fact, they’re probably not only expressed more strongly, but wrongly, mainly because we are not aware. This is the frustration many 12th house natives can feel. People can tell them that they are acting in a certain harmful way, but they wouldn’t even know.

However, although struggles in the 12th house are terribly frustrating and difficult, getting over such struggles will be extremely worth it. If you have any planets in your 12th house, using the energies to do something good will be very rewarding. Don’t let karma be a bitch. Be your own bitch.

With that being said, check if you have any planets in the 12th house!
